We will be back at Aunt Chilada’s on Sunday, May 17, 2026, from 6 to 8 PM with Mark Vigorito on cornet, Russ Whitman on clarinet & sax, Jim Fryer on trombone, Charlie Freeman on piano, Art Hovey on tuba & bass, Tom Palinko on drums, and vocalist Cynthia Fabian.

Since July of 2009 the GJB has performed monthly at Aunt Chilada's, usually on the third Sunday of the month. Known since 1993 as the best Mexican restaurant in the greater New Haven area, Aunt Chilada's is located at 3931 Whitney Avenue in Hamden (beside the golf course) just a couple of miles north of Sleeping Giant. Seating is somewhat limited; please call 203-230-4640 to reserve a table or a seat at the bar. There is no cover charge, and no minimum. We'll be back again on June 21, with special guests.

Fred Vigorito passed away peacefully in his sleep on March 10, 2026. At the reception after his funeral on March 15 his son Mark performed a few tunes with Jeff Barnhart, Jim Fryer, Molly Sayles and Art Hovey. There is a short video on YouTube from that performance. A great crowd of his friends and loyal fans celebrated his remarkable life that evening at Aunt Chilada's.

Bill Sinclair’s, Memorial Mass will be at 11:00am on Tuesday, May 5 at at St. Theresa’s Roman Catholic Church, 5301 Main Street, Trumbull, CT 06611. Bill was our pianist for more than 50 years. Jeff Barnhart’s Tribute to Fred and Bill was in the April 2026 issue of the Syncopated Times.
